The Founder

Sadhak Pitamber Dash Maharaj

The Brugu Bharav Dasha Mahabidya Pitha was founded through the lifelong devotion of Sadhak Pitamber Dash Maharaj, who dedicated over 45 years to Kali Sadhana and the worship of Maa Kali.

His unwavering spiritual practice and deep reverence for the Divine Mother inspired the establishment of this sacred temple, becoming a beacon of Shakti worship for devotees across Odisha and beyond.

What began as a sacred personal sadhana blossomed into a divine institution — a living testament to the power of faith, devotion, and surrender to Maa Kali.

The Ten Mahavidyas

The temple is unique in its dedication to all ten Mahavidyas — the supreme goddesses representing different aspects of the Divine Mother.

Kali, Tara, Tripura Sundari, Bhuvaneshwari, Bhairavi, Chhinnamasta, Dhumavati, Bagalamukhi, Matangi, and Kamala — each goddess embodies different cosmic powers and spiritual teachings.

The Mandira

A Towering Symbol of Devotion

The Dakhina Kali Mandira stands at a magnificent height of 108 feet, a sacred number in Hindu tradition representing completeness and divine perfection.

Crowned with its divine Kalash, the temple rises to a total height of 120 feet — a towering symbol of devotion and spiritual grandeur visible for miles around.

Construction began in 2015 and culminated in the grand Pratishtha ceremony on March 10, 2026, marking the divine installation of Maa Kali in her eternal abode.

Kali Sadhana & Puja Begins

Sadhak Pitamber Dash Maharaj began his devout Kali Sadhana and initiated daily Kali puja at Nayananda, Serpur, Bhadrak — laying the spiritual foundation of this sacred institution over 45 years ago.

2010

Temple Planning

With a growing community of devotees and divine inspiration, the formal planning of the Dakhina Kali Mandira began — envisioning a grand temple to enshrine the Mother.

2015

Construction Begins

Ground was broken and construction of the Dakhina Kali Mandira commenced, guided by traditional Agama Shastra to honour the sacred architecture of Hindu temples.

2026

Mandir Pratishtha — March 10

The auspicious consecration (Pratishtha) of the Dakhina Kali Mandira was celebrated on March 10, 2026 — a historic moment for all devotees of Maa Kali.
